Don't you love it when you make a prediction and it comes true? If you look back to my December 3 posting, you saw my predictions for the Iowa Caucasus. Let's see how long it is going to take for Hillary to totally drop out. Right now, I am predicting Obama and Romney for New Hampshire. Obama, mainly because of America following the Pied Piper and Romney being the governor of a state near New Hampshire. Lets see how it goes next Tuesday.
One more prediction...LSU 28 Ohio State 20

It's the beginning of a new year. It may be cliché, but where did the year go? So much happened this last year, but yet did anything really get accomplished? What are we to accomplish this next year? We WILL elect a new president. We WILL get older. We WILL get another day closer to the end of our life on this earth.
Talking about getting older, it will be my 20th high school reunion this year. I cannot believe that it has been that long. I am old. Kids who weren't even born when I graduated are in college and having their own kids. A lot has happened these last 20 years. I got married, was in the military, had 3 kids, had probably 10 jobs and been to 4 countries. I have had 14 different cars and 3 different houses. What a history.
Again, happy new year. Make something happen this year.

I think I found my next project. Christmas 2008 will be a traffic stopping showcase on W. 2nd Street in Coal Valley, IL. I went to my cousins house in Elburn Illinois and got inspired. This video is in no way close in comparison to his show, but it is fodder for my creation for next year. The following picture is of his house though. Just wait till next year. Until then Merry Christmas to you and all of your families.

It's almost Christmas and the Wii selling spree is over. I could not believe the madness that followed people on their conquest for the Nintendo game system of the year. The $249.00 electronic game that went for sell on eBay for around $550.oo just 2 weeks ago is now going for barely above retail. It surprised me how fast the buying and selling trend went downhill. Maybe it was because of targets release of so many systems into the mainstream buying market last Sunday. In Davenport alone, the released 72 of them. Multiply that times the amount of Targets in the United States and you have a lot of Wii out there. What will be the next big selling trend? I thought it would be Guitar Hero for the Xbox 360, but the market dropped faster than I would fall off the top Sears Tower in Chicago. I want to be on the next train to ebay richness. Oh what will the next Wii be?

What was so nasty can become so beautiful. The ice storm that hit the Quad Cities late Monday and all day Tuesday really didn't amount to much except alot of rain. What did turn to ice though has been left on the trees and with the bright sun glimmering off of them, they have turned into pieces of winter art. Ansel Adams could not have photographed and Thomas Kincade could not have painted as beautiful as a scene as when you head north over the hill on I-74 in Moline and began to overlook the Mississippi River valley. If it wasn't so cold here, it wouldn't be bad this time of year to live in the Quad Cities. As I said, how can something so nasty become so beautiful?

I wish my job can be like the weatherman's. It must be nice to only have to be right 50% of the time "Yes Mr. Caster, your computer may or not get online. At least that's what my calculations are showing me". We have been waiting for the storm of the century ,or as Dave and Darrin call it "Death Storm 2007", all day. It is like the weathermen are employed by Microsoft"This product may or may not work".
Just nineteen days until Christmas. This year really flew by. I know I probably said this before and am sounding like an old man, but I figured if I had said it already, repetition is the key to remembering. So remember this, time is going by to fast anymore. It seems like we are always on the go, doing something or going somewhere. The older the kids get, the more involved they are in everything. Maybe there will be another ice storm this weekend because of "Death Storm 2007" and we will be trapped in the house.
Here are the latest polls. My boy is in the lead now. Remember to keep an eye on him in the next few months.

One month countdown to the Iowa caucuses. Who is going to win the circus? Are we ready for the next president of the United States? Are we ready for the first woman, minority or Mormon president? Every once in awhile, a underdog will come on the scene and win it all. I say keep your eye on him as a front runner in this race. I am discovering more about him and I am liking what I see.
Next prediction...Hillary will be be left out, Edwards and Obama will be the front runners. Let's see what's going to happen in January in Iowa.

IT'S FRIDAY!!!
It seems like the older you get, the faster the week flies by. It just seemed like we celebrated Nicki's birthday dinner at Happy Joe's. Tomorrow is December 1. It won't be long before we look back and cannot believe how fast 2007 came and went. 2008 hopefully will slow down a little. I don't look forward to being 40 and the slower the next two years go by, the longer I can prolong the inevitable of being old. At least my kids aren't getting married by the time I am 40. I know of people my age that were grandparents by the time they were 40. My kids will barely be teenagers. Hopefully being that young, they will help me to feel young. Hey it's lunch time, I cannot believe how fast this morning has flown by. See ya November...hello December.

HEY...I'VE UPGRADED
You no longer have to be a member to leave a comment on my blog. I was wondering why no one was responding to the little bit of humor that I have been writing and then I looked in the settings and realized by default you had to be a member to leave a comment. I know how people hate signing up for things on the internet, with all the spam and such going on. It is now safe to leave a little bit of your wit now. All you have to do is select add a comment and type to your hearts content. I want to know what your response is.
I hope everyones Thanksgiving went ok. We had 29 people at my parents house and we still had plenty of food. We enjoyed seeing Steve and Karen again after 22 years. I hope to keep in contact with them now I know where they are and have an email address for Steve. He was the first one to get me interested in computers. Because of him showing me how to do things on his Commodore 64, it inspired me buying my first Timex Sinclair1000 and got my interest peeked. Now I work in the industry. Thank you Steve.
Again, leave me a comment. I hope I don't lose contact with the all the friends I now know the next 20 years.

Happy Thanksgiving. What are you thankful for? In this world sometimes, it is hard to find anything to be thankful for. It takes a little bit of looking around, but I am sure you will find something. Be thankful you are alive for one thing. Be thankful that you have a roof over your head, a place to lay your head and food to feed your head. Be thankful that you have the freedom to say what you want, read what you want and believe what you want. Be thankful that you can worship where you choose, worship how you choose and worship who you choose. Just be thankful.

Dang it's cold. The difference in a few days can make a big change in temperature. I can't wait for spring. I now it's a little early for a person to say that, but it's true. I hope the next 3 1/2 months go by fast because I am ready to go to the Caribbean. The next couple of weeks will be real busy. I just hope I got time to post. That is if I don't freeze to death first.

The stuff we talk about at work sometimes is downright intellectual. Today we were talking about the possibilities and differences between propane and gas powered vehicles versus gas/propane powered vehicles with automatic cylinder shutting off to save gas on the highway. Then to top it all off, we had to add the male answer to everything mechanical-Nitrous.! Why is it with males than they need more power? Everything is better if it is bigger. If it works just good enough, how much better will it work if we add 10 more horsepower to it or 10 more lbs of pressure to that power washer to make it strong enough to peal paint off the center line on the highway? My friend can make it to St. Louis in 4 and a half hours, but if I took away 1 bathroom break and took 15 pounds off my car and increased my overall mph by 1.725 miles per hour(just enough to go under the radar)I bet I can make it in 4 hours....try and beat that! My car is cooler, my computer is faster and my wife is cuter than anyone of my friends. Maybe we can talk about that at work someday, doesn't get anymore intellectual than that.

It has been so hectic this past week. I have been running around so much transporting people and supplies from site to site. It is so surprising what difference a week makes in the weather. Fall is really here. The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder. The winds around here have really been picking up and blowing everyone in my neighborhood leaves into my yard. This weekend I will finally do the final preparations for the winter to my yard. It will be a good lesson in character for the kids. Plus it will give them a chance to earn their allowances. That is of course my life isn't made more hectic by then.
